Role: Electronics Production Engineer Location: Cheltenham Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 Benefits Bonus Due to continued success and growth a leading aerospace & defense business based in Gloucester are looking for an ambitious Production Engineer to join their successful team… The responsibilities of the Production Engineer are: Provide engineering support to all of the internal Operations teams Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to resolve internal and external technical problems. Ensure that technical support delivery promises are adhered to and adopt a pro-active approach to early identification of issues before they impact production Prepare and maintain technical documentation to support business requirements in accordance with company procedures. E.g. Engineering Change Notes; Specifications; Build Manuals; Repair Schedules; CMM Discrepancy Reports (CDR) etc. Undertake detailed fault-finding of module and unit faults to component level in support of production Support Product Investigation activities Provide support to new product adoption activities. Attend regular technical and programme review meetings as required to support tasks. Support determination of make/buy decisions. Identify, procure and commission tools, fixtures and equipment required by production Train technicians/operators in use of new equipment and processes. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work with relevant teams to implement effectively. The successful Production Engineer will have the following skills / experience: Able to demonstrate experience in a technical support / Post Design Support role in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience is very desirable. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills of technical issues. Effective and accurate use of MS Office applications and ERP systems. Able to produce clear, concise and accurate written and verbal communications (in English) at all levels. Effective listening skills and ability to clarify and confirm technical support requirements. Confident in a fast moving and changing environment with the skill to prioritise tasks as the business or customer demands. Is self-confident, proficient and competent and can work well under pressure and with minimum supervision. Able to demonstrate the ability to consider wider business implications when considering options and making decisions. Able to work in an engineering team environment and participate in all team activities, with a willingness to share experience and skills and promote the development of team members. Able to work outside core hours and be flexible to react to the business priorities. Able to travel within the UK to provide technical support to customers, suppliers and sub-contract partners.
