Overview
Senior Tooling Engineer I am currently working with an automotive client on their search for a Senior Tooling Engineer to join their growing team. In this role, the Senior Tooling Engineer will be responsible for managing all elements of press tooling, jigs, fixture and manufacturing gauges. Day to Day Responsibilities: You will be involved in the feasibility and enquiry process identifying and specifying tooling sub-contractors, defining the tool operation sequence together with any / all jigs, fixture and manufacturing gauge requirements. Providing technical support and advice on cost estimates Negotiating on items of tooling, jigs, fixtures and manufacturing gauges Agreeing and monitoring press tool introduction timing and build quality Supporting New Project Introduction within the press tooling area of manufacturing Developing and implement preventative plans within the maintenance of press tooling, jigs and fixtures Ensuring support to the manufacturing area for the introduction of component visual standards Preparing and introducing a tooling manual allowing outside sub-contract toolmaking companies to understand the requirements of our business Understand and control costs within this area ensuring tool are available to meet the production requirements Identifying tool improvements and where authorised implement them Responsibility for the introduction, repair and refurbishment of all press tooling, jigs and fixtures within the business Ensuring that the products conform to dimensional requirements Support the continuous development of product and processes and initiatives within your area Skills and experience: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Self-motivated Enthusiastic If this position for Senior Tooling Engineer sounds of interest, please apply with an up to date copy of your CV for consideration.
