Hello! My name is Sarah and I am the Lead Respiratory Pharmacist at the John Radcliffe Hospital. I lead a small team delivering a well-established and respected pharmacy service to respiratory patients from Oxford and the surrounding areas. We cover many specialist areas including cystic fibrosis, severe asthma and interstitial lung disease. This post has been created to support service expansion in which pharmacy plays an important role. I would be keen to hear from you if you are a qualified and experienced Medicines Management Technician with a wealth of clinical knowledge, who is able to demonstrate leadership and collaborative working. The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT) Respiratory Department is currently looking for a Medicines Management Technician (MMT) with good communication skills and an enthusiastic outlook to support its friendly and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to make a difference to a wide variety of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. You will play a key role in the development of a ward based dispensing service and the provision of medicines management to the out-patient Cystic Fibrosis and Severe Asthma clinics. You will provide crucial support to the improvement and expansion of this service. In addition to your clinical role, you will deputise to the Ward Based Technician Manager, providing leadership and management support to the ward based technicians and assistants across all four hospital sites. This post is open to candidates who are working towards aspects of the person specification, with a view to progressing to band 6 once required experience and training has been achieved. Applicants must be qualified pharmacy technicians registered with the GPhC. You will need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
