Compliance Manager
Overview
Due to the expansion of a rapidly growing organisation specialising in testing of electrical products we are looking for a & Compliance Manager to join this successful operation in Milton Keynes. The Compliance Manager will direct and manage the certification department. Key tasks: Managing and directing the compliance strategy including review, maintenance, development and continuous improvement of quality manuals and procedures. Overall commercial responsibility for the compliance department, including budgeting and planning. Proactive preparation of audit programmes, audit plans, scheduling of audit visits, the assignment of audit teams and the review of audit reports. Client management and client satisfaction including handling of complaints against clients' products and the company Make recommendations to the Chief Executive for proposed certification sanctions to be applied to clients, as necessary. Implement, maintain and improve the documented management system operated by the company. Manage quality management standards for the group's certification and testing activities to ISO/IEC 17021-1, ISO/IEC 17065, and ISO/IEC 17025, adopting the quality manager role and liaising with accreditation bodies. Duties include the design, maintenance and revision of the applied quality system, scopes, manuals, procedures, other documents and related records, providing oversight of internal quality control, competency, calibration / verification, action chasing and internal reporting. Manage the group's technical recognitions and appointments with regulatory bodies, specifier groups and related activities, including Notified Body activities. Provide regular reports on compliance, accreditation, quality and recognition issues to management, and to the Audit Committee and Board. Undertake internal standards development projects in co-ordination with the Technical Director. Assist with responding to technical enquiries (via email, phone, website), routing these appropriately to the sales, technical, or other teams. Any other reasonable request of management. May be required to visit clients anywhere in the world. Successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in a similar role and will be a Qualified Lead Auditor for QMS. Must have excellent knowledge of standards, accreditation, certification and testing activities. Experience of cable manufacturing and knowledge of cable/ electrical/ polymer standards is highly desirable.
