Job Description

We are looking for passionate and high skilled senior level Legal & Compliance Associates to join our Viva Wallet teams in Greece (Athens), the UK (Milton Keynes), France (Paris), Belgium (Brussels), Portugal (Lisbon), Spain (Madrid), Romania (Bucharest), Poland (Warsaw), Italy (Milan). The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking the responsibility of proactively handling a broad range of legal and regulatory compliance matters, supporting our companys European payment services business expansion. More specifically, as a Legal & Compliance Associate you will: * Be responsible for the provision of legal support and advice to the groups divisions mainly in the wider area of corporate, commercial and labor law as well as with respect to operational and regulatory compliance matters (e.g. AML, regulatory reporting to local authorities etc, compliance with the requirements imposed by the local & European regulatory authorities- EBA, EPC-etc); * Prepare and review of legal and corporate documentation (including agreements and contracts of a wide range of commercial law subject matters); * Liaise with external legal advisers and regulatory/supervising authorities; * Structure and handle litigation cases; * Organize and coordinate the Legal & Compliance department files, cases and issues; keep up with deadlines; documenting actions and generating status reports; Requirements To be considered you should have: * Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) and an LL.M in commercial law related areas (preferably in Banking & Corporate Law); * Deep knowledge of financial services regulations, and in particular Payments regulations; * At least 6 years' solid working experience as a lawyer in the Banking or Payments sector or alternatively in a premier law firm specialized in banking/payments and corporate law; * Demonstrable experience in commercial and banking law, especially in regulatory related issues (eg. AML etc). Previous experience in European regulatory compliance projects is considered a strong plus; * Experience in dealing with complex legal & regulatory compliance issues with significant financial impact; * Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple and demanding projects; * The ability to build relationships with co-workers across Europe, business partners and local supervising authorities; * The ability to work well both independently and in a team environment including with senior management; * The ability to work comfortably in an intense, fast-paced environment and successfully manage and meet deadlines; * Fluency in English * An addional European language is considered a plus Benefits We are offering an attractive competitive salary and the opportunity for a rapid career development in the fastest growing FinTech in Europe, working closely with a highly motivated team in a dynamic and fast- paced multinational environment.
