IT Security Analyst
Overview
Becoming an IT Security Analyst with Capita Plc: Working within the Service Management team the role of IT Security Analyst is to provide Operational/Information Security activities based on 4 core services (SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Firewall Assurance, and Incident Response). Additional responsibilities include wireless scanning, cryptography, managing work requests, assessing change requests and performing change impact analysis and reviewing security configurations. Ensuring the safety of valuable data stored in computers; preventing data from being destroyed, modified, or improperly used through networks and Internet fraud. Assisting with the installation of security software products for enterprise platforms. Distributing information based on sound security access controls, for all platforms. Monitoring security logs for violations and unsound events; reporting information security concerns and problems, when necessary. What you will do: Security Information and Event Management - Own, maintain and develop the SIEM solution, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. This comprises of: Ensuring necessary and relevant log sources are collected by the SIEM, Develop reporting and alarming to identify threats, compromises, process/procedure failures, misconfigurations, malicious use, etc. Perform investigations when required to support disciplinary/criminal prosecutions Vulnerability Management - Own, maintain and develop the vulnerability scanning function, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. This comprises of: Internal & External scheduled and ad-hoc scanning, Reporting of vulnerability information to key stakeholders and resolver teams, Provide assistance to resolver teams in the remediation of vulnerabilities Firewall Assurance - Perform assurance and audit of the Firewall estate and processes Deliver the IT Security Incident Response Process acting as the Incident Handler where appropriate Wireless Scanning Manage the timely resolution of security vulnerabilities with IT teams Design and develop security reporting for internal and client security metrics Provide Technical Security Reviews of new and amended systems Your experience will include: Experience in working with SIEM solutions such as Logrythm Experience working within on Premise and Cloud technologies Has initiative and keeps up with industry developments. Remains calm and logical under pressure. Takes ownership of issues to ensure they are resolved.
