We have 8 premises, where we perform highly complex procedures as well as routine surgery & medicine. We have an exciting opportunity for a D Grade (Band 5) Staff Nurse to join us in our Day Surgery Unit, based at our main hospital, 20 Devonshire Place, W1G 6BW. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. Job Description To be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and service to the patients.This included the appropriate assessment and evaluation of care in keeping with: The philosophies of the Clinic/Department. The NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice. The Clinic Policies and Protocols. This is a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours a week with a competitive salary ranging between £31,059 - £33,552 per annum, depending upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities To take responsibility for individualized patient care acting as the named nurse, and assist in establishing and monitoring protocols/care pathways. To ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents. To promote safe practice and professional conduct. To encourage good working relationship within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients. To be flexible with regard to staffing and duty roster, i.e. deputizing for Sister/Charge nurse or assisting in other areas or on other floors when the floor is closed and during low occupancy. To rotate to the ENT outpatient clinic in 120 Harley Street when needed. Skills & Experience A minimum of 1/2 years post registration in an acute surgical setting. To have knowledge of general surgical patients pre and post-operative care.
