Job Description The CNS will provide clinical leadership which inspires, motivates and empowers nurses within the service and is responsible for effectively managing the financial resources, ensuring the optimal deployment of the nursing workforce to ensure high-quality patient care is delivered and monitored. This will require the post holder to contribute to both corporate and hospital initiatives and plans, particularly in respect of changes in patient care delivery and quality. This is a full-time role working 37.5hrs per week Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with some flexibility as some clinics start early and finish late and evening meetings. Duties and Responsibilities To provide high quality nursing support to patients who have been given a diagnosis of gynae cancer, non malignant gyanecological conditions or who are managing the effects of the disease or its treatment To provide effective support to carers and family members affected by a gynae cancer diagnosis To provide in reach clinical practice to the one stop clinics To develop strong and mutually supportive relationships with the research nursing team. To provide nursing seniority in the MDT meeting and to advocate for patients to have stratified follow-up To have a wide experience of working with chemotherapy and radiotherapy and to understand the impact of treatment and management of Side-effects Thorough understanding of the entire patient pathway To facilitate the team to provide relevant, up to date information to the patients and carers Maximise the relationship of the team with the inpatient and community palliative care services Skills and Experience Registered Nurse, 1st level with current NMC Registration. Diploma level education or equivalent intellectual ability. Evidence of on-going professional development within gynaecology or oncology. Teaching/mentorship training or equivalent. Advanced Communication training or prepared to work towards.
