Overview
McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with an International Top10 Accounting Firm in Reading who are looking to strengthen their Regional Senior team and recruit a Senior Manager of Special Financial Projects. As a key member of the firm’s fastest-growing business unit, "Special Projects" help solve problems within client finance departments, providing a range of non-audit assurance, training and consulting services to help clients grow their businesses. The consulting services are primarily aimed at listed PLC's, OMBs and major private companies, including International corporates who have a UK presence. Key duties include: Reviewing Special Project work prepared by junior staff, ensuring files are compliant with internal guidelines including memorandums, action notes, recommendations and project conclusions Planning client assignments in accordance with Financial Standards using the software provided Working closely with Partners to deliver projects for clients and help with the overall business development for the team. Ensuring partners review and sign off Special Project planning papers, ensure fieldwork on client sites can start within a timely manner Liaising with clients on financial/strategy issues, explaining in 'laymen’ terms the technical issues they face and how they can be resolved Drafting reports and management letters for submission to clients, presenting to Partner for approval Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Technical Accounting Standards including UK GAAP, IAS and IFRS Responsible for day-to-day staffing of the Special Projects team, resolving any problems which may arise Ensuring junior staff are aware of project risks, goals, time-lines etc. in order that Projects are completed to a high standard Suggesting new business ideas and concepts for increased marketing opportunities with existing & new clients To be considered for the Special Projects Senior Manager role you should be degree-educated and a fully qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant from another Top- to Mid-tier Accountancy or Consulting Firm, with strong portfolio skills, staff management and who can help clients solve a range of technical issues. You should have excellent report and letter writing skills, managed key portfolios and have an in-depth knowledge of technical accounting standards. You will be used to delivering Accounting / Non-Audit Special Projects, have superb relationship management skills (internal & external), along with strong business development & networking skills. It is a great opportunity for someone looking to deliver a 360-degree service to a range of multi-sector clients. On offer is a salary up to £70,000 depending on relevant experience with benefits to include company pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday.
