Brief We are currently looking to recruit a 1-3 years' PQE lawyer to join the Infrastructure Projects and Concessions team. This role can be based in any of our regional offices in Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen) or in Leeds. Background The role sits within the Infrastructure Projects & Concessions team, which is part of the Projects Group. The team carries out concessions and major projects work. Advising on contracts to establish economic and social infrastructure based concessions and major PPP projects in the UK and internationally (particularly but not only those seeking project finance), working for universities, public authorities and private sector sponsors and their funders and subcontractors. We work across a wide range of industries including by way of example student accommodation, renewable energy, healthcare, sports stadia, ports, airports and energy from waste. Our team is over fifty strong in the UK, with eleven lawyers across our Scottish and Leeds offices forming part of and working closely with our wider projects team. Candidate Summary The successful candidate will: have gained a good range of experience of infrastructure project related work during their career to date at a City firm or large regional practice – experience of student accommodation projects and public procurements will be of particular benefit although is not essential; be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment both in a cross-team and cross-office manner; be technically strong and exercise good commercial judgment; and have the interpersonal skills necessary for this client-facing role. The role is wide-ranging, will focus on and include: developing on-going relationships with an existing client base in the student accommodation sector as well as pitching for new opportunities; playing a key role in further enhancing our reputation as a market leader in the student accommodation advisory space (we have been nominated for Professional Advisor of the Year in the Property Week: Student Accommodation awards in 2018 and 2019); developing close working relationships as part of an international team; the opportunity to be involved in work on an international level; taking an active role in our campaigns, the developments of our products and pitching for new work.
