Overview
Financial Controller- 6 month FTC OA Executive are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join a growing global insurance company where you will take accountability for all Finance and Treasury related activities for all of the organisation's group companies resident in Europe. You will manage all consolidated insurance and non-insurance reporting for the region, with direct responsibility for the following: Production of annual budgets, in conjunction with senior management team Production of monthly management accounts including variance analyses and KPIs (on a Regional basis, this includes underwriting performance, complete with up to date case and ultimate loss reserving. KPIs include solvency, liquidity and other ratios and measures required for management and regulatory purposes) Production of annual statutory accounts and handling of attendant audit and any regulatory filings Tax computations and filing of corporate and other tax returns Preparation and filing of local regulatory returns Cash flow management, including cash flow forecasting, ensuring that each corporate entity has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations, and that all surplus cash is invested in accordance with group policy General ledger management, including the interface between corporate and fiduciary ledgers Management of monthly payroll and all accounting entries Employee Benefits administration and accounting Settlement of and accounting for all corporate overheads, including rent and other office costs, T&E, legal, insurance, regulatory and other costs Settlement of and accounting for all (re)insurance transactions within the Region, including collection and onward payment of all premiums and claims Management of all bank accounts within the region, including regulatory ("client money") management of all such accounts that contain insurance transactions Design and implementation of processes and internal controls to ensure that all transactions are valid and correctly accounted for, that all accounts and financial / management reports are complete, accurate, timely etc, and that efficiency and effectiveness are maximised Evaluation of Finance infrastructure (eg General Ledger) and suggestion of changes to improve efficiency and internal controls The ideal candidate for this position will ideally come from a training background within a major accounting firm and will have a recognised accounting qualification. You will have sound post-qualification experience in (re)insurance finance and accounting, ideally at a Financial Controller level in a multi-jurisdictional environment. Any experience with Life, Health, Accident and Disability business with either a (re)insurer or a (re)insurance intermediary would also be advantageous. You will be familiar with group accounting, consolidations, statutory and company reporting, multi-currency accounting, treasury management, (re)insurance regulatory compliance and transaction processing.
