Overview
Chief Underwriting Officer - Salary Negotiable Our client is an established Lloyds coverholder and broker based in the City of London. They specialise in the delegated underwriting and open market placement of casualty risks emanating from Europe. They are actively seeking to employ an experienced and respected underwriter with a background in the Lloyds syndicate or company market. The successful applicant will possess strong technical knowledge of underwriting UK and/or European Professional Risks, Financial Lines, Medical Malpractice risks. Working closely with the M.D. and Senior Management you will assume a number of responsibilities; 1.Project manage the purchase of a European insurance company and lead integration of this business into the group. 2.Reinforce and strengthen the reputation of the MGA among Lloyds/London market capacity providers. 3.Prepare and lead the negotiations for new binding authority agreements and secure binder renewals with wider and more advantageous terms. 4.Enhance confidence in the MGA through refining processes and procedures through devising operational efficiencies. 5.Oversee the on-going underwriting and broking activity 6.Share knowledge and expertise to train, support and guide existing members of staff. 7.At a strategic level work with the M.D. to bring new perspectives and ideas that will benefit the development of the business and facilitate profitable growth.
