Special Needs Carer/Support Worker Location: Hendon, North London Pay: Weekdays £11.00 per hour / Weekends £12.00 per hour Shifts: Part time and full time hours available Family are fully flexible for the right candidate and are more than happy to discuss this during your interview. We are currently recruiting a Special Needs Carer/ Support Worker for a family in Hendon, North London, NW4 on behalf of our private client. Role Details The family are looking for a caring, professional and reliable, live out Special Needs Carer / Support Worker to join their team. They are a professional couple with a busy family life. Their 12-year old son has special needs with multiple complex needs. He is dependent on all daily living activities and requires a high level of assistance to undertake these. The purpose of the role is to provide assistance to our client's parents with the care of their son and to take sole charge at pre-arranged times. Tasks will include: - Medication administration - Personal care - Transferring - Communication - Food preparation and management - Household tasks - Appointment attendance As K has complex needs, there are many professionals involved in his support, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists. As a Special Needs Carer / Support Worker you will learn the routines they provide in order to carry these out as part of the day to day support. You will expect that K is the centre of your work. Skills, Experience and Attributes - At least 1 years' experience of working with children with complex needs particularly Cerebal Palsy, ideally within the home environment and/or the wider community - Experience of handling medication - Excellent communication skills - Patient, fun and caring - Excellent team-work skills - Ability to work flexibly in your delivery of care - Dedicated to your role - Respectful of working in the family's home although it is your workplace.
