Senior Production Manager

White Oak Associates Inc ,
Oxford, Oxfordshire
Salary: From £58,000 to £65,000 per annum

Overview

This rapidly growing specialist Industrial Coatings company are now looking to enhance their Production and Engineering team with a Senior Production Manager who is capable of managing and growing a production team made up of skilled Engineers and low skilled Production Technicians. The Senior Production Manager will be primarily focussed on improving current engineering processes and efficiencies using Lean Manufacturing techniques whilst overseeing the day to day production via a team of Managers and Supervisors This is very much a strategic role, requiring an individual who has experience of delegating and managing production as opposed to becoming hands on and embroiled in day to day issues that could be managed by the supervisory team. Supported by an external HR Team, the Senior Production Manager will need to have a basic understanding of HR Processes relating to recruitment, day to day management and performance management. Ideally possessing an engineering or production qualification, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of managing production/engineering lines and improving efficiency using recognised production engineering techniques. They will also be able to demonstrate experience of developing Production strategies to cope with increased production volumes and possibly automating processes. The successful candidate will have production engineering experience gained from large volume, fast paced “Assembly” environment. The candidate will be used to setting up different production processes to produce different bespoke components, on a high volume but limited run basis Although not necessarily essential, the ideal candidate could come from a large volume bespoke component manufacturer, a precision engineered components company or a coatings application company. However applications from people falling slightly outside this would be welcomed. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience of implementing change within a production/manufacturing environment, both in terms of processes and engineering and culture. The individual will have strong communication skills, and will have experience of managing both high and low skilled production teams. A fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious company, the candidate will be rewarded with an excellent basic salary, Pension, DIS and 25 Days Annual leave plus BH. In addition the role, in line with growth expectations and time, could evolve in to a Production Director/ Operations Director level position with salary commensurate with a role of that nature.
