On behalf of VACGEN, GCS are currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector for the first phase of a large project won as detailed below: JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE The main purpose of this role will be: Responsible for measuring, inspecting, testing and validating various components and assemblies to specification. Recording information to drive improvement in quality performance and identifying root cause to prevent future failures. To be the champion for maintaining quality standards across the business from goods receipt through to customer delivery and providing feedback and data to raise standards. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES The main requirements and employee accountabilities are: Quality Assurance Measuring and visually inspecting components and assemblies to drawing using a variety of metrology equipment including the use of Faro Arm (CMM) equipment. Testing and validating components and assemblies using a variety of test equipment Ensuring any defects and features not to specification are recorded through the non-conformance process and corrective actions and root cause are established to correct errors and prevent future occurrence. Visually inspecting finished goods to ensure compliance to specification and being the champion for ensuring the required quality standard is delivered to our customers Working with various individuals and teams to improve processes to manufacture product right first time. Updating KPI's and metrics to drive quality improvement ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The essential skills/experience required for this role are: Experience working to ISO 9001. Have at least 3 years' experience working in a machine shop or similar manufacturing environment and possess a good understanding of Quality and Process management tools and methodology. Examples including 5S/6S, flowcharts, VSM, Kaizen, Pareto, QCPC, SPC, AQL, FMEA, 8D, Cause & Effect, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc. Experience of using CMM or Faro Arm devices and proficient with a range of metrology equipment typically used in machine shop environments. Able to read and understand technical drawings and engineering specifications DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE The skills and experience we would like the employee in this role to have are: Knowledge or experience of welding and fabrication processes would be beneficial Previous experience of working in the vacuum industry would be advantageous.
