Overview

Our client has an exciting senior role for a lead developer within their technology business to lead the development of their highly complex, cutting edge software.This person will be leading the offshore delivery team to ensure high quality code is delivered at the required pace. Our client is moving from a traditional PHP based SaaS implementation to a modern VueX Orbit.JS one page app; and this person will be working on features that will pay back technical debt while producing the next feature set. You will work within an agile sprint structure, mentoring outsourced developers and QA resources to accelerate the development flow in a reliable manner.You will help ensure the testability, maintainability and consistency of the code follows best practices. The following skills are essential: · A confident hands-on coder with the ability to lead and motivate a team · Very experienced with TypeScript or JavaScript ( ECMAScript 2016 and later).Specific knowledge of Typescript would be tremendously advantageous since this is what we are moving towards. · Knowledge of PHP · Strong code pattern knowledge · Passionate about best practice · Mentoring and motivating offshore teams · Familiar with Gherkin, Jira, git Who you are: These are the characteristics we anticipate will define a successful lead developer: · Passionate about developing industry-leading solutions · Experienced in leading offshore teams to deliver high quality code at a pace · Contributes ideas and can clearly articulate & sell them · Recognises the importance of knowledge sharing – bouncing ideas around with the team for the best result · Builds consistency across the code base · Can manage own time and delegate efficiently · Working with the development manager to manage project resource effectively For an experienced developer with these characteristics, this is a really exciting opportunityOur client offers flexibility including some home working (although you will need to be able to get to Nottingham as required) and flexible working around core hours. A good basic salary of up to £60,000 is on offer, depending on experience.Our client offers the following benefits: 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays, generous contributory pension scheme, parking levy paid (if required) Due to the current social distancing requirements, the interview process will be completed remotely – this will involve a video interview, a technical task, and then a second more thorough interview also performed remotely.
