The day job We’re currently looking for a Senior Technical Architect for a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with the existing team within one of our key government customers. You will work on a broad range of Cloud native delivery initiatives, following open standards in; containers, as a service, AWS, Micro service, Server-less functions and data insight solutions. Key Responsibilities: Define strategic direction in enterprise environments and produce enterprise, solution and technical architectures to meet functional and non-functional specifications Take the role as a solution or technical lead to ensure the architecture is successfully implemented and transitioned to technical design/ build / test and production Design and deliver cutting-edge digital solutions and cloud services to make technology more accessible to customers and migrate legacy systems to modern cloud based solutions. Interpret user, business and solution requirements and ensure the scope and specification are aligned, providing assurance that the products align to requirements. Keep the customer at the centre of the solution design and delivery, work on modern cloud-centric technologies to deliver maximum benefit Actively share technical and business-aligned knowledge from internal and external sources throughout the team, and also mentor junior members. Key Skills Proven record in developing architectures as part of Digital programs with in-depth knowledge and experience of Agile delivery to the GDS / Gov.Scot requirements. Java and Open Source solutions, with knowledge of wider frameworks packages in niche areas such as content management and document management systems. Micro-service and cloud native patterns including data management, event based integration and leveraging data to generate insights. Experience in designing systems for integration and re-use, using frameworks/standards, technologies and design patterns such as API Gateways, Message Brokers and token based security. Designing solution and leading digital delivery teams to using Agile and DevOps methodologies to ensure automation and delivery pipelines flowing from development, testing, infrastructure as code to automated deployment. A demonstrable record of designing solutions to key non-functional requirements including cyber/security policies, resilience, logging, errors and scalability Enterprise Architecture knowledge and are able to engage effectively with client solution/enterprise architectural and management teams Pre-sales experienc Reasons why you should apply to us We’re big – really big.
