Overview
Senior PHP Developer (Laravel / Symfony), Oxford (City Centre) NB - Interview process and onboarding can be done remotely, but the role will be office based when that becomes safe to do so. Avanti Recruitment is currently partnering with a very impressive SAAS company within the stock market and trading domain. An interest in this sector would be advantageous but the most important thing is commercial acumen, alongside strong programming experience. Your work will help drive user conversion, activation, engagement, retention and referral using data-driven growth strategies. You will use your engineering expertise to build the necessary solutions across the web and backend stack, which may range from innovative prototypes to full production solutions. The diverse range of activities will include building bespoke content generation, publishing and distribution systems, API driven advertising strategies, conversion rate & funnel optimisation, search engine optimisation and domain specific projects including stock picking competitions. You will develop, measure and optimise these projects, helping to report on results and propose improved ways of operating based on the data. You will know what it means to deliver a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and how it affects the balance between commercial objectives and technical debt. You will be able to work in short cycle sprints, where the priority is to deliver a working prototype quickly. Along with the other members of the growth team, you will be able to work as an independent, autonomous team that can define its own workflow and does not require constant management oversight. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented PHP Developer who gets excited about solving big problems using development led approaches. Requirements; Experience working on high-traffic websites or services. Experience in Symfony or Laravel or similar PHP framework. Experience in Angular 2 preferred though not essential. Strong JavaScript & Python skills a positive. Well versed in databases - especially MySQL & Mongo. Strong understanding of web conversion and the marketing funnel.
