About us Our client is an International Insurer, underwriting a diverse portfolio of property, casualty, marine and reinsurance business on a world-wide basis. These products are underwritten through Lloyd's of London and regionally through commercial insurance routes. The role A Delegated Accountant Technician is required to work within the Delegated Underwriting Management Team focusing on the capture of delegated authority business at certificate level and utilising best practice procedures to chase for underwriting bordereaux and the timely receipt and application of all funds. Our client is currently implementing new practices to comply with "best practice" initiatives within the team. Key accountabilities Process delegated bordereaux into various internal bordereaux management systems Data entry into core underwriting systems Work closely with credit control to ensure contract terms are being adhered to. Manage issues or escalate to Director of Delegated Underwriting Management where necessary. Support day to day process management of delegated underwriting, in accordance with the Delegated Underwriting Policy and Procedures. Ensure administration of the portfolio is in line with regulatory defined conduct requirements and agreed minimum standards for all territories. Grow and maintain strong underwriter/broker/coverholder relationships in support of the business through the life of the portfolio. Work collaboratively with other internal partners as required for each facility. eg. Underwriting, Compliance/Legal and Reg, Claims, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Management and Actuarial. Manage reporting requirements on the book of business. Keeping track of each account and its current state Any ad hoc tasks required by the Director of Delegated Underwriting. Skills & experience Possess a sound knowledge of insurance; experience of working in the London Market or a delegated authority environment would be advantageous Have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with their clients/brokers Have experience of effectively managing and manipulating high volumes of data; they will be able to create concise and accurate reporting and supply a pertinent interpretation of the results Be educated to a minimum of A-Level or equivalent Possess strong numerical and analytical skills Demonstrate good working knowledge of Excel, and be a competent user of MS Office; experience of using BDX/Eclipse would be advantageous and aptitude to learn in-house software is essential Delegated experience, knowledge of Eclipse and BDX , CII qualifications or equivalent would all be desirable
