Overview

Underwriter/Analyst - Delegated Authority to £40,000 negotiable We are currently seeking a Delegated Underwriter to join our dedicated, detailed and hardworking team. Working across multiple metrics and delivering a high quality service, you will achieve income and profit objectives by delivering an efficient underwriting service to delegated coverholders and brokers. You will Underwrite and analyse property delegated authority accounts to achieve underwriting loss ratio targets. Your Role: Deal daily with new business and renewal referrals by producing terms and converting/retaining acceptable business Improve standing and presence within the delegated authority market by establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships with Coverholders, directors and staff Work collaboratively with other parts of the organisation, especially the claims, pricing & insight and sales teams Support the collection and conservation of high-quality underwriting data. Interrogate, assess and draw conclusions from large volumes of account data. Measure the impact of underwriting actions, rate change, renewal retention and change in business mix Qualifications Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications: Chartered Insurance Institute qualification, equivalent or working towards one is highly desirable. Educated to Degree standard or equivalent Knowledge of delegated property insurance and underlying legal principles and practices Strong proficiency in MS Office with a particular focus on Excel and ideally Access. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, capable of handling large data sets Knowledge of underwriting portfolio accounts, comfortable using technical knowledge to handle claim queries ensuring a connected service. Analytical mind set with the ability to develop solutions necessary to solve complex problems Ref 7528 MW Appointments is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
