Overview

Finance & Administration Manager. Due to sustained financial growth, an experienced commercially minded Finance & Administration Manager with a successful track record of leading a small team is required to take responsibility for the accounting, financial reporting and overall financial and administrative management of an industry leading organisation with over 30 years’ experience of supplying critical process equipment to the pharmaceutical industry. Reporting directly to the Board, the successful candidate will lead a team of 4 accounts and administration staff. Operating in the highly professional and regulated Pharmaceutical sector, the company is both ambitious and dynamic which ensures the role will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure. The accounts and admin team are core to the organisation’s stability and continued growth plans. You will, therefore, be expected to engage with all other managers of the business to continue our internal improvement programs which in the medium term will involve upgrading our financial software from Sage 50 to a more complete CRM/Financial/Reporting package. Key Responsibilities Preparation of management accounts & KPIs to a deadline Analysing and reporting on financial data Reviewing and improving financial controls (whilst ensuring that they do not unnecessarily slow down operations) Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns. Closing of end of year accounts and liaising with external accountants in preparation of year-end accounts and HMRC submission. Reviewing with Directors divisional actuals vs budget on a monthly basis Analysing business performance by monitoring key financial indicators and reviewing profitability of departments and services. Overviewing completeness and security of HR and personnel records Skills & Experience Accounting - e.g. MAAT qualified or similar Strong working knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Excel Proven line management ability. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role Able to communicate effectively at all levels, with good written and oral skills Well organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail Payroll and VAT/Intrastat experience (some knowledge of EU import/export) Experience of working with international customers and suppliers Multi-Company Accounting Experience including knowledge of working with an overseas subsidiary Administration of a company pension scheme Ability to coach non-financial members of the team on financial issues and consequences Experience of trading and legal entity reporting in Ireland - Desirable Implementation and management of an App-based expense reporting system - Desirable This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, MAAT qualified Finance & Administration Manager to take on a pivotal, vital role within a growing, ambitious and well-established company.
