Overview

A well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy who have offices throughout the UK are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Newcastle to be the main point of contact for one of their largest clients and service their project portfolio. This role would suit someone looking to taking the next step up in their career, using the cost management skills they’ve acquired to date to challenge themselves further by taking on a fuller role when it comes to client responsibility. The consultancies ethos is to ensure that each client receives a personalised service specific to their organization and project. They work in partnership with clients, working to understand their overall business needs which ensures all project work undertaken is successful. A lot of their work is repeat business which is a testament to their hard work. The Directors of the business have a hands on approach and are actively involved in service delivery. This appointment is key to continued growth of the business, the Quantity Surveyor will have daily input with the Directors ensuring the vision is delivered in reality. Everyone is encouraged to input in all areas of the process and be prepared to help in areas outside of their main role for the benefit of the client and the company. They are looking to appointment someone to head up and work within a dedicated client team, being a key contact for the client and managing the internal team to ensure consistency. You will be acting as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards. You’ll have the autonomy to handle any issues that arise and be responsible for sourcing an appropriate solution. You will be leading on the delivery of Cost Management Commissions and taking responsibility for end to end service delivery on projects that are frequently complex. The client is looking for someone who is degree qualified, ideally has a membership with the RICS but most importantly has between 2 - 4 years of proven post qualification experience as well as strong measurement and cost planning expertise and the ability to be commercially astute with good negotiation skills.
