Flint helps them to drive their businesses forward. Flint’s Policy and Political Analysis (PPA) practice is hiring and searching for talented and motivated new recruits. We need top performers with an understanding of and interest in both the public and private sector. We are seeking exceptional individuals to join the team in London to support at consultant level. The role You will support the delivery of client work in our PPA practice, with a likely focus on the tech / digital sector. This will involve working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners to advise clients on public policy, politics, regulation, and commercial strategy. Flint’s clients want to understand, in detail, how they can build a long-term strategy to thrive in an evolving policy environment. You will work with them to deliver the best possible outcomes. Engaging closely with our UK and international clients at the most senior levels - working with Board members and Executive teams - and across a wide range of sectors. You will have the opportunity to work with other members of the Flint team to research and analyse the complex policy challenges and develop options and approaches to address those challenges, backing up recommendations with wider strategic and political analysis. This is a junior role and will involve some more administrative, organisational and research tasks to support the client teams you work with. There will be opportunity to engage in substantive policy and political challenges, as well as significant scope for career progression through the company. What we are looking for We are looking for high achievers, from a range of backgrounds. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience working in public sector organisations (Government, Parliament, public sector bodies, etc.). In particular, we are looking for individuals with direct experience working in Brussels or across the EU either in the European institutions, national member states governments or parliaments, or a multilateral institution. Across all roles we look for a high standard of academic achievement. We are looking for candidates with c.3-5 years’ work experience. You will have: - Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills - the ability to draw out the implications of complex evidence and analysis to give clear strategy and policy advice - Outstanding written communication skills, with proven ability to draft clear documents for internal and external audiences with varying degrees of expert knowledge - Outstanding oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues to non-specialists - Good organisational skills including the capacity to project manage client teams including prioritising, planning and scheduling complex tasks proactively, and comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines - Strong interpersonal skills - a flexible approach and the ability to work well across teams, both with internal colleagues and external clients - A strong understanding of politics, economics and the public sector, particularly across the EU - Demonstrable experience or knowledge of trade policy and / or of a sector in which Flint operates is also an advantage Standing out In order to be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following three things in your application: - You are team-player and the kind of colleague who will add to the strong community we are building at Flint - You have something to say, and that our clients will benefit materially from access to your expertise, and your perspective - You will be driven by achieving outcomes for our clients, and that you can successfully contribute to a fast-paced commercial business If this sounds like you, we would be delighted to hear from you.
