This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for an experienced sub-editor to join a growing company with an editorial team of more than 12 in the UK and the US who deliver information and news on a complex market across the globe for busy business people (niche industry but very broad readership base). The role: The sub-editor will join a busy editorial team, ensuring they deliver error-free, house-style conforming, well written articles and other content to deadline. Reporting to the Deputy Editor, but also working closely with the News Editor, the key task will be subbing the daily output of news stories, but you will also sub features and content from their analyst, events and marketing teams. You will also help build our photo library and proof-read publications such as our directories. Layout skills would be an advantage. The candidate: This company need an experienced sub-editor or production editor who prides themselves on ensuring content meets the highest standards before it is published. A stickler for factual accuracy, you will work well with busy colleagues, and have the ability and drive to rapidly learn about the complex agenda of their industry and regulation, and the business and scientific debates that surround it. Duties/responsibilities: Your duties and responsibilities will include: subbing news, features and other content, such as conference programmes, marketing brochures, directory entries, tables and regulation summaries sourcing, sizing and filing images non-stock images proof-reading laid out pages Writing short news briefs Editorial team members work full time from home, but they hold regular face-to-face meetings in the UK (London).
