Overview

The Matthew Project is a value driven charity working across East Anglia giving help and hope through programmes with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. The Role: You will engage and network with businesses, individuals, Churches and other local organisations to develop opportunities for support and fundraising, including involvement in organising and delivering fundraising campaigns and events. The Community Fundraising Officer will support the organisation in the development of social media and manage the donor database and donor relationships with the CEO. You will also assist the CEO in the management of public relations and engagement with the media for the purpose of raising the profile of the organisation. You will help spread the word about the great work we are doing and help us generate income. Role Responsibilities for the Community Fundraising Officer: Carry out specific project work to generate income, with the CEO, Trustees and staff (e.g. the development of a corporate giving campaign and legacy support) Project work includes organising design and production of necessary marketing materials, and events Plan and coordinate Matthew Project events Work with and support the oversight of volunteers for one-off events such as store/street collections and/or local events such as carnivals/festivals etc. Represent the Matthew Project at relevant meetings and events, as appropriate Take responsibility for supporting the aims of the Matthew Project by raising the profile of the organisation across the media, Churches and general public Develop our social media offer with staff, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and the fundraising pages of the website Produce the bi-monthly external newsletter Maintain the donor database in-line with GPDR legislation Maintain a professional relationship with service users, carers and colleagues Requirements for the Community Fundraising Officer: Experience in Fundraising in the Community 5 GCSE subjects grade C or above including English (or equivalent) plus 2 ‘A’ levels (or equivalent) Demonstrated ability to generate funds and income through a variety of means Experience developing and engaging with media and public relations campaigns Ability to form and develop excellent working relationships with individuals, particularly those in influential positions, to positively raise our profile and support the raising of income Social media skills Ability to prioritise, plan, organise and manage workload under own initiative Knowledge of local and national opportunities is desirable to support the raising of the profile of the organisation Positive, co-operative and solution focussed attitude Benefits: 27 days per annum plus public holidays A friendly and welcoming working environment Pension scheme after three months of employment Closing Date: Tuesday 10th March 2020 Interview Date: Tuesday 17th March 2020 at our Norwich offices
