Overview

Business Development Manager – Social Care You will be required to have overall responsibility for managing and growing sales within the South & West by seeking out new business opportunities within our existing client network of Social Services and Private Occupational Therapists and Grants Officers, and through new channels including the NHS. Key Duties: Providing product advice to Occupational Therapists (OTs), Primary Care Trust (PCT) Managers and Social Services Departments (including schools and other areas with which come under the control of social funding) in order to promote our equipment based on providing solutions to improve the lives of disabled children and adults Organising and running training meetings with groups of OTs and other relevant professionals Seeking out and finding new customers within the geographic area by contacting Social Service departments, hospitals and other potential customers Managing all routes to sales, including but not limited to, Social Service tender portal registrations, following up on all leads to conclusion Developing new business, within children’s and adults’ social services and the NHS Building new relationships with Dealers and other 3rd party suppliers and maintaining and growing existing relationships within our current dealer network Using strong interpersonal and communication skills to initiate and maintain communication with potential and existing clients with confidence. This aspect of the job will inevitably involve some degree of ‘cold calling’ and public speaking. Have the flexibility, ability and product knowledge to be able to advise on a wide range of equipment covering a variety of physical needs Conducting site visits as appropriate Oversee the room layout process, producing CAD drawings and creating, completing and uploading relevant administrative paperwork, including accurate and complete maintenance of individual sales opportunities, as required to meet operational needs and process requirements Diary self-management, making daily and weekly appointments Producing regular Management Information as requested by the Sales Director or other members of the Senior Management Team. Plan an active role in contributing to the Company’s Health and Safety system. Any other tasks/duties which may arise from time to time and which are necessary to accommodate operational needs. Working closely alongside the Sales Account manager for the defined geographical area - to support and provide new sales opportunities to. To work closely as a team to win sales and promote the company and the product range. The person in post will be expected to find solutions for our customer and clients and be able to specify the correct product that suits the clients’ long term and short needs Skills required Experience in a medical / social service / working with people with disabilities environment preferred? CAD knowledge, the ability to understand architect drawings Professional skilled sales approach within all areas Problem solving Some knowledge of building constructions, plumbing and electric, would be an advantage Ability to forward plan Exception organisational skills and record keeping The ability not only to find new business but to turn those opportunity in orders To take ownership of the complete sales process A willingness to help and support clients and our company colleagues To work as part of a team and on an independent basis Clean driving licence Smart appearance Position attitude, positive approach, you will be required to become an expert specialist product adviser and solution provider to our clients CRB cleared Other information You will be expected to stay some nights away from home in the execution of your duties Attending exhibitions, 3/4 per year This is an on the road position, not an office based role, average monthly driving miles will be between, 2000/3000 miles per month.
