Overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Apprentice to join our team in Purfleet. You will be working within the commercial teams in our Hire Division, responsible for winning orders and maintaining effective customer relationships . As an apprentice you will develop the skills needed to support all aspects of business to business sales from direct sales to territory management. As a Commercial Apprentice you will gain valuable experience learning on the job whilst working alongside your mentor. We will develop your skills so that you can be given additional responsibilities as your apprenticeship progresses. You will complete a Level 4 Sales qualification supported through a structured in house development programme and a range of classroom based workshops and virtual learning with Mercuri International, to ensure you to attain the relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours required to achieve your apprenticeship. Throughout the duration of your apprenticeship you will be appointed a workplace mentor to support you with your learning. What might a typical day in the job look like? You'll work alongside your mentor to: Develop a sound understanding of the commercial procedures and processes within Portakabin Hire Division Gain thorough product knowledge of the full range of Portakabin products and services through in house training Support with developing and maintaining effective relationships with customers Gain skills to understand the principles of finance within a sales environment such as profit and loss, sales forecasting Develop commercial proposals and deliver them in a presentation format in a style and technique that suits the customer. Learn how to keep customer records up to date using CRM (Customer Relationship Management System). Contribute to a positive working environment with regular performance reviews and undertaking further training as appropriate. Flexible approach to working hours What qualification or qualities are required? 5 GCSE's Grades 4-7 (A-C), including Maths and English or equivalent Knowledge and use of IT systems The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions Be a great communicator with the ability to communicate verbally, clear and polite over the phone and clear and concise through the written word The ability to work systematically and logically and have good planning/organisational skills.
