Overview

Vortexa is seeking an ambitious Sales Director to join our Houston-based Americas team. This is a new hire for the business where you will be instantly impactful and a key contributor to our ambitious growth plans. Your mission In this role, you will proactively develop new relationships with energy trading companies and leverage your existing network of contacts to promote Vortexa’s subscription products and solutions. Owning end-to-end new sales and renewal opportunities, you will report to the Managing Director of our Americas business working closely with the Commercial teams in both London and Singapore to provide a best-in-class experience for prospective and existing clients. You must be a driven self-starter that embraces challenge, with a resourceful and positive approach to problem solving in a fast-paced start up environment. You will be Undertaking proactive outreach to client company stakeholders (traders, analysts, procurement etc.) to establish relationships and qualify sales opportunities Maintaining a robust pipeline of commercial opportunities, including assessments of contract risk and up-sell potential, and detailed records of client interactions within our CRM application Planning and execute sales interactions to persuasively demonstrate our products’ value proposition and close deals Developing a deep knowledge of our clients’ workflows in physical and financial oil trading, and of how Vortexa’s products give our clients competitive advantages in these workflows Coordinating with EMEA and APAC sales colleagues to commercialize cross-region opportunities within multi-national client companies and share best practices You are Driven by commercial results and exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit Passionate about the needs of our energy industry customers Self-sufficient – deliver impact on results without close supervision Able to promote and represent the Vortexa brand Aligned with the Vortexa values and mindset A keen problem-solver with strong business acumen Comfortable and can thrive in a fast-paced, open and collaborative environment You will bring Five or more years’ experience selling energy/commodity information tools Knowledge of oil trading dynamics and market participants Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot, Pipedrive or Salesforce University educated Strong relationship building and relationship management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills In return we offer A competitive remuneration package, including base salary and commission Stock options in a fast-growing, high-potential business Medical, dental, vision benefits and a 401K retirement plan The opportunity to work with industry experts on the leading edge of artificial intelligence in commodity trading A working environment built on merit, which celebrates creative thinking and collaborative achievement Sales training and development Please note this will be based out of our Houston office, salary is negotiable.
