Family friendly working environment. High rewards for success. Building Surveyor Responsibilities: Reinstatement of properties following major damage from Fire, Flood or other insured peril. Project values from £30k to £6million. Liaise with loss adjusters, assessors and clients to confirm the nature and extent of the works. Provide initial advice in order to secure instructions. Attend meetings with loss adjusters, assessors and clients. Keep loss adjusters and assessors up to date with progress. Inspect property and draft schedules of works, specifications or reports. Discuss draft specification or final report with client. Prepare insurance assessments and claims. Finalise specification and obtain instructions to tender. Organise documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes. Determine the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair Contract administration. Instruct on construction design and management regulations. Report weekly/monthly progress to all involved parties. Build relationships and confidence with loss adjusters and assessors. Carry out feasibility studies. Advise on the health and safety aspects of buildings. Take full responsibility for work. Person Specification and Skills Ideally RICS Registered Building Surveyor. Full UK Driving License and ability to travel frequently within the UK when required. 2 years post qualification experience. Self-motivated and able to deliver in a demanding work environment. Technical knowledge and competence. A logical and practical mind. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to build lasting professional relationships with clients and colleagues. Negotiation, presentation and report writing skills. The ability to analyse problems in order to identify solutions. Commercial awareness and the ability to ensure that you are adding maximum value to clients' businesses. The ability to take on high levels of responsibility with enthusiasm and motivation. Good IT skills, including computer-aided design and high proficiency using CAD.
