Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started. **Summary:** Facebook is seeking a Policy Communications Manager to support a wide variety of press-facing policy issues across Middle East and Africa. You will need to understand the media environment, our policies, the social debate around our platforms and the cultural context of multiple countries. You will be part of the EMEA policy communications team and work closely with the country communications and policy teams to communicate our position on some of the most interesting tech related policy issues of our time, including privacy, safety and security, freedom of expression, the impact of the Internet on economic growth, cybersecurity, taxation, and new opportunities for democratic engagement. **Required Skills:** 1. Manage policy related press issues for the region 2. Work closely with country comms and policy teams to tackle issues and build proactive communications moments that advance the company's position on key policy areas 3. Counsel cross-functional partners on communications considerations for policy changes, product updates and other announcements that will impact the MEA region 4. Draft statements and messaging 5. Be the subject matter expert on policy related issues for the MEA communications team 6. Train and brief spokespeople on policy issues 7. Distill complex policy concepts into plain language for press and the broader community across the region **Minimum Qualifications:** 8. Significant and relevant experience of working on complex, high-profile press-facing issues 9. Understanding of press, politics and political structures across the region 10. Excellent judgment, excellent communication and persuasive skills, creativity, perspective, the ability to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment 11. Superb written and oral communications skills 12. Self-starter that with a desire to tackle hard issues 13. Excellent writer and communications skills 14.
