Overview

The Recruitment Department of the French Chamber of Great Britain is acting as an agent for its over 530-member companies, one of which is currently recruiting a Sales Engineer. Our client is a French company specialised in timber structures for sport and leisure industry. As a Sales Engineer, you will be in charge of the development of commercial activity in the UK. The customer must be at the heart of your daily concerns with the implementation of the company’s commercial policy in order to develop sales. You will directly report to the Sales Manager based in Colchester. You will spend most of the time on-site client visits and home office, with occasional travels to Colchester's' office. Key Responsibilities: 1.Implementing trade policy: Establish, develop and maintain the company business network (Communities, Architects, Engineering office, Sports leagues and federations, Assistant Project Manager, Clubs, Universities…) Identify and participate in trade fairs, conferences, all external representations events Participate in communication actions in collaboration with the Communication Manager: define mailing and e-mailing campaigns for targeted customers or prescribers; organize discovery days (about 2 per year) with the visit of a reference realization for the neighboring communes Participate in internal meetings: Daily: Establish a permanent synthesis on the actions carried out and to be carried out, Weekly: Participate in planning meetings with the pre-project department by videoconference every Monday morning to plan the business to be studied, Monthly: Participate in business meetings at headquarters for 2-3 days Bring the innovations and new features of the company offer to their network. 2.Qualify the customer’s needs: Qualify the incoming contacts (website, telephone, business network) with the sales assistant: customer discovery, needs analysis, determination, and implementation of the first sales actions, follow-up, and reminders Communicate directly with decision-makers and systematically meet potential customers to better understand their needs and build the trust necessary for any lasting business relationship To establish a report on the commercial software (CRM), to rigorously capture all the actions carried out as well as the programmed actions. 3.Define, Present and sell the project: Organize building visits with potential clients Carry out an initial feasibility study in collaboration with the pre-project department (engineers, architects) within a short time ( Present the offer to the customer's during face to face meetings Advising clients on public procurement procedures Responding to calls for tenders Setting up the RFP response team: Identifying strategic suppliers and main subcontracting and/or co-contracting partners Constitute the complete offer with the commercial assistants and with the pre-project department for the administrative file and the technical file with notably the drafting of the technical memoranda Steering the negotiation and strategic choices on each case (technical and commercial) Ensure that the contract is finalized for signature with the General Management After signature, send the signed project to the Works Department for completion Ensure customer satisfaction during the execution of the work in dialogue with the works engineer. Profile: Bac 5 Business School Bac 5 Engineering School Fluent English, French is a plus Excellent Microsoft Pack skills Knowledge of products and markets related to the construction/architecture industry Experience of at least 5 years in the setting up projects and business for communities with knowledge of public markets Great autonomy and a sense of initiative with a real entrepreneurial and commercial spirit Relational skills and drafting abilities to dialogue with elected representatives and technical and general services of local authorities Strong organization, rigor, and taste of teamwork Flexible on traveling to France once a month for business meetings at headquarters
