Job description   Wefarm, the world’s largest farmer-to-farmer digital network, enables farmers to connect with one another over SMS to solve problems, share ideas and spread innovation.   Until Wefarm, no one had built a digital platform for farmers to share their vital insights, without having to go online   This is a rare opportunity to combine working for a business with a social purpose at it's heart with working for a high-growth, VC backed tech business.     The Role   Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role will be mainly responsible for accounts payable activities, supporting in the preparation of management accounts.   We'll provide support toward the costs of study as well as a plethora of on the job training from an experienced team.   Wefarm is a fast-paced, high-growth business so the things you'll be exposed you and rate of development on offer is significant.   Some key parts of the role include:   Take ownership of, and enhance, the accounts payable (AP) process at Wefarm Ensure a reliable, well regarded and efficient AP process championing financial control Ensuring expenses and costs are allocated to the correct cost centres Resolve payment queries Perform expense reviews Perform month end close - complete balance sheet reconciliations for one of our countries in East Africa Work with external auditors from time to time   About you   Motivated, hardworking, curious, collaborative and eager to get involved in anything and everything - start-up culture means that new challenges always present themselves and your willingness to roll your sleeves up will be crucial to success in this role High attention to detail Hands on experience with excel and accounting software Experience in finance with demonstrable ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records Passionate about development and progression with a desire to attain professional qualifications
