Job Summary Our Biology group based at our state of the facilities in Saffron Walden is looking to recruit for a Technical Specialist on a permanent basis. You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic about working in a tissue culture environment and have experience of high quality cell culture, cell banking, or GXP cell production, ideally gained within an industrial or academic screening environment. You will be working with a range of cross-disciplinary teams, supplying cells for a wide array of cellular assay formats and helping to advance client projects aimed at discovering new medicines. This exciting role will place you as part of a core team working at the forefront of drug discovery, cooperating with clients and colleagues across the world. Our ideal candidate will have a degree or degree level qualification, 5+ years relevant experience, and a passion for applying scientific expertise to drug discovery collaborations. Being adept at working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will need to possess the flexibility required to work in a goal-oriented environment. Technical Requirements: Significant experience with cell culture technology development and implementation Significant experience in culturing and troubleshooting a significant number (30+) of recombinant, primary or stem cell lines in parallel Ability to provide cells for high throughput screening and a knowledge of contemporary cryopreservation methods in order to supply consistent large batches of cells for continually running projects Knowledge of molecular biology and cell line generation experience in order to provide best practice to client cell line generation projects An awareness of relevant scientific and contemporary cellular assay practices, with the ability to use this knowledge to troubleshoot assays A deep understanding of a wide variety of cell culture methods, and able to apply learnings from one method to other areas Awareness of biological safety requirements of tissue culture facilities and methods of avoiding contamination If you think your skills fit our requirements and you are keen to advance, or start, your career in industry, apply now!
