Job Description

A leading Jewellery retailer currently requires a Part Qualified Accountant to join their Finance Team on a permanent basis. You will be joining a team of 4 reporting directly to the Head of Finance. Based in West London, Chiswick. You will be responsible for; * Responsible for working closely with the Head of Finance to establish and uphold appropriate financial procedures and controls, and to review the quality of month end processes and reporting. Also acting as a support to the Business Controller in cash flow and forecast planning activities. * Establishing relationships with, and supporting the accounting function offshore including the reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, to ensure the monthly trial balance and accounts are accurately prepared, and the flow of accounting information between the local office and Hub is addressed in a clear and timely manner. * Conducting balance sheet, accruals and costs variance reviews monthly and reporting these to Head of Finance * Review of cost/profit centre postings created by the accounting team offshore. * Assisting Head of Finance in the preparation of year end reporting packs for the UK, Ireland and the Nordic cluster organisation * Preparatory work for the statutory accounts, audit and corporation tax submissions for the UK and Ireland legal entities * Ensure payroll journals are posted accurately and related control accounts reconciled monthly, in a timely manner * Preparation of more qualitative/ad hoc journals including provisions and year end entries * Any other tasks necessary for the successful performance of the local UK finance team, including changes in accounting master data, involvement in group reporting and authorisation of bank payments Requirements For your application to qualify, you will have the following; * Part-qualified or qualified Accountant working towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent * Minimum two to three years accounting experience with at least one years experience in a similar role * Strong working experience with SAP is essential * Proficient in using IT systems and software, including advanced excel skills * Understanding of company financial reporting cycle and financial control environment * Monthly management reporting experience * Retail experience is highly advantageous * Strong written and verbal English * Management of communications to multiple senior stakeholders * Confidence in communicating with remote accounting Hub team * Builds strong working relationships * Flexibility and willingness to work fluidly across various finance areas as the business need dictates * Ownership of tasks and dedication to the business needs * Ability to use initiative and prioritise workload effectively * Capable of working at pace during peak periods * Management of multiple deadlines * Ability to identify relevant questions and solutions in a complex environment Benefits * 35-40k d.o.e * 25 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays * Pensions scheme (5% company contribution) * Staff discount of 60% off retail up to 2,000 at RRP per annum * Season ticket loan
