Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join NHS Tayside. Applications are invited for the position of Phlebotomist. You will be taking blood samples by venepuncture within an established team of phlebotomists who deliver a 7 day service for in-patients throughout Ninewells Hospital and to out-patient clinics. Previous phlebotomy experience in a healthcare environment would be advantageous, however full departmental training will be provided. Good team working, time management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential. A flexible approach to working pattern will be required. You will be based at Ninewells Hospital however there may be occasional requirement to travel to Perth Royal Infirmary. We would encourage applicants to arrange to visit to the department. Hours of work are: 20 hours per week. 5 x 4 hour sessions per week. Most sessions 8am-12noon however there will be a requirement to work some afternoons and weekend sessions on a rotational basis. There will be a requirement to participate in a public holiday rota.
