An exciting opportunity to join NHS Tayside An Audit Facilitator post has become available in the NHS Tayside, Cancer Information and Audit Team. Cancer Audit Facilitators are responsible for the collection of key Cancer Quality Performance Indicator data for NHS Tayside. This is used as a tool to measure the performance of cancer services in Tayside against clinical effectiveness and national waiting times targets and is part of the quality assurance process within Clinical Governance. The role offers development of audit, analytical and communication skills and the role would suit someone who would like to expand their skill sets in these areas in a supportive environment. Knowledge of Cancer Information is preferable but not required. This role would suit someone willing to step up to the challenge of learning and developing audit skills. The Role The Cancer Audit Facilitator will work with cancer clinicians and other staff in NHS Tayside to: * Implement and maintain collection of complete, accurate and timely data to monitor the treatment of patients newly diagnosed with cancer. * Analyse, present, and report data to measure services against national, regional and local standards (eg. Detect Cancer Early) and waiting times targets for the site-specific groups. * Work closely with cancer clinicians and discuss performance as well as definitions. * Develop ways of maintaining and checking records to improve quality control. Skills/Experience Applicants should have: * Excellent keyboard, communication, administrative, organisational and negotiating skills. * A degree in a numerate subject or have equivalent experience. * Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of applications. Whilst previous experience/knowledge of audit or reporting would be advantageous, full training will be given to candidates who can demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment.
