The Role As an R&D Tax Consultant, you'll be incorporating both scientific/technical expertiseand corporate tax knowledge to work with clients in preparing R&D tax relief claims. You will be working directlywith the both technical (CTOs/Technical Directors)and finance (CFO) stakeholders across a portfolio of SME tech clients and advising them on an ongoing basisas to R&D growthopportunities. Day to Day, you will bemeeting with these clients to audit theclient's technologyactivities against R&D tax legislation,effectively extracting technicalinformation and presenting this to HM Revenue &Customsin a clear and technically accurate manner. Akey component of your role beingthe preparation/collation of the qualifying R&Dexpenditure, accompanying financial schedules and the submission of the relevant tax documents to HM Revenue & Customs. Responsibilities * Meeting prospective clients to assess their claim potential under the Research and Development Tax Relief scheme. * Working directly with and coordinatingtechnical/financialinterviews with a portfolio of fast growth technology clients. * Preparingthorough and substantiated technical/financial documentation to support the eligibility of R&D claims. * Speakingand meetingregularly with clients and advise on any technical issues with both clients and HM Revenue and Customs. * Supporting clients in advance of and during HM Revenue and Customs enquiries. * Assist the R&D Tax management teamto ensure that all deadlines are met and manage work effectively through provided CRM systems. * Maintain clear versioning and ensure that all risk and review processes are followed. * Aid in the training and mentoring of junior members. This is you * You've experience in the preparation andsuccessful submission ofR&D Tax Relief claims. * Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience. * A background in the fields of science, technology and innovationor a strong interest in these fields coupled with previous R&D tax experience. * Strong numerical ability and great attention to detail. * Highly proactive and organised with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively. * You're self-motivated with a drive to achieve and a passion to deliver top quality work. * Professional attitude with a strong ability to projectcredibility to clients.
