For more information, visit www.dxc.com Ongoing support (incident, change, service requests, monitoring and maintenance) of a complex HPC customer environment in the UK (>1000 servers) Responsibilities: - Linux OS support - Creation and customisation of scripts for day to day use in Linux deployment and maintenance - Maintenance of Linux builds with complex hardware/software environments (e.g. InfiniBand network, high performance parallel file systems and storage e.g. GPFS (Spectrum Scale), DDN - Deployment and maintenance of failure tolerant distributed systems - Deployment and maintenance of Linux networking in large scale environments - Deployment and maintenance of HPC and related scheduler systems Required Skills and Experience: - Multiple years of hands-on experience in supporting and maintaining Linux environments - Experience with BASH shell (for complex admin tasks) - Expert level knowledge of Redhat and/or SUSE Linux - NIS-based authentication 1/2 Preferred/Optional skills: - Experience in HPC or HPC scheduler operations (Univa/Sun Grid Engine, PBSPro, e.a.) - Python programming experience - Centrify or similar authentication - Basics in Ansible and Git - Knowledge of a cluster-aware image deployment mechanism e.g. HPE CMU/PCM, xCat - Knowledge of inter-process communication (e.g. MPI, OpenMP) - Experience in processor affinity and its impact on application performance - Familiar with HPC network integration and tuning in Linux environments (Infiniband and/or Omnipath) - Familiar with HPE Scalable/Apollo 6000 server families (and/or similar non-HPE vendor offerings) Process and Procedures - Familiarity with ITIL and Service Management in general and as deployed in DXC - Use of SM support software including Remedy and SM9 - Reporting and presentation of SM related metrics and SLA information to clients - Event and Incident management - Familiar with high end storage systems (NetApp, DDN etc.) - Integration of custom hardware support and Linux - Experience in common benchmark and system analysis tools - Familiar with DevOps tools and methodologies - Familiarity with working with leading edge engineering, design or similar environments - Familiarity with High Performance user applications at the installation and tuning level DXC Technology is committed to the development of a fully inclusive workforce.
