Purpose of Role: The Director of Programme Management for Gyroscope will report to the Head of Pipeline & Portfolio Strategy and will be a senior member within this team as well as play a major leadership role in managing Gyroscopes products working across all product teams and functions. They will be in charge of some of the leading drug development programmes both at the strategic and day to day operational level. As well as contributing to the set-up of the project management office, including tools, process and influencing behaviours within Gyroscope. They will work with the Head of Pipeline & Portfolio Strategy on the management and execution of the Gyroscope portfolio in line with the company's strategy. Responsibilities: Responsible for strategic and day to day planning, governance and oversight of the successful delivery of long and short-term programme objectives Lead the project teams to update programme driven business plans, budgets, forecasts, and report actual performance against plan, identifying and analysing key variances against plan, and highlighting critical path activities Proactive risk management at a personal and team level with a deep understanding on identification and management of risk for programmes and impact across the portfolio Develop, maintain, and align an accurate, integrated programme timeline, resource plan (budget and people), and integrated cross functional plan with the ability to communicate this at the appropriate level, such as operational teams and senior leadership Demonstrate strong team leadership and management skills with the ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals involved in the programmes and across the organisation Find innovative ways to resolve problems through scenario planning, contingency planning, risk assessment and management, problem solving, ensure teams have the right information to support them through decision making at the right time Prepare independent periodic management reports (e.g. monthly reports, programme milestones, dashboards). Lead the development within the PM team and embed programme management tools and best practices across all programmes, including alignment with governance, reporting, budget and resource allocation. Good understanding of the wider Gyroscope strategic and portfolio level objectives Profile Demonstrable experience in programme management at portfolio level in big pharma and/or biotech Deep understanding of the development of a product/device from concept through research, development, manufacturing, commercialisation and close Experience in managing product/device teams and in the pre-clinical and clinical phase of development. Ability to effectively negotiate and influence to ensure the success of the team and project Understanding of financial and resource planning systems and processes and ability to coordinate programme-level budget/resource estimates and manage actuals vs. plan. Experience in working within a project management office and the suite of tools, processes and system needed to support this Ability to track performance against objectives, use of effective meeting management tools and techniques Ability to maintain sources of programme information, and to integrate and distribute appropriate information to senior management and external partners Ability to analyse, synthesise detailed plans and communicate top line messages and implications to the executive team and external stakeholders Expertise in use of project management software solutions, including skills in critical path analysis Experience using MS Project Experience in Ophthalmology/gene therapy drug development would be helpful, but not essential No Agency CV's - Thank you Apply for this Job
