Practice Leader Abersychan, Torfaen Salary: £29,994 based on 39 hour contract A valid driving licence and use of own car is essential Thank you for expressing an interest in joining the mirus team in Torfaen as Practice Leader of Complex Services. As the Practice Leader of this Service you will be required to register with Social Care Wales. mirus is an established local charity, we have been supporting people in South Wales for over 30 years and employ over 650 staff. As the Practice Leader this is a unique opportunity to lead the development and delivery of a supported living service for a young person who has just turned 18 years of age as he transitions to adulthood. You will play a lead role in enabling the young person to transition from Children's to adult services and to a supported living environment where the person will eventually be sharing the home with one other person. You will support both young people to achieve their personal outcomes and shape their adult life. The young people will be supported at home and in the community to access a variety of activities, events and experiences. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to be the Practice Leader for this exciting service. Ideally you will have experience of working with people with complex behaviour and / or autism. We are looking for someone who can think creatively, be confident in positive risk taking, and lead an innovative approach to supporting both the young person, their new co-tenant and the support team. You should be able to demonstrate that you can make a real difference to the young people's lives; ensuring they live a full and active life both at home and within their community. As the Practice Leader you will take the lead in developing support practice, managing a successful and high performing team, inducting them in to mirus values, ethos and work practices. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who can be positive, creative and innovative to enable these young people to achieve the things that matter to them. Successful applicants must have a level of physical fitness and be prepared to have a flexible approach to shift work, working a range of patterns including sleep in's and waking nights where required.
