Drover is a London-based venture capital-backed marketplace startup offering monthly, all-in car subscriptions to customers who want to experience car ownership as it should be: digital, flexible and at a fair, transparent price. The Role As the CFO /FD , you will be the finance leader within the business, responsible for everything from leading fundraising discussions right through to the details around our financial processes and controls, as well as leading the current team of 6 finance professionals as well as the compliance team. You will have the opportunity to build on the current team in how you think it is best to solve the needs of the business, and ultimately you will be responsible for financial management, cost control, company budget, cash flow, financial model and much much more. At the beginning you will need to get stuck in and be hands on with everything, from understanding our financial processes, tweaking our financial model, whilst at the same time leading on the strategic elements of the role. Responsibilities * You will have overall responsibility for the financial management, cost control and cash management of the company. * You will develop and oversee the companys financial strategy and provide strategic financial advice and proposals to the CEO, the rest of the Senior Management Team and the Board. * You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the Business Financial & Forecasting Model for investors and for internal use * You will have complete responsibility for overseeing the monthly financial close and reporting, including reporting to the Board and other external reporting requirements. * You will lead and oversee the FP&A function, including developing and owning the company's budget, holding teams to account for hitting this. * You will manage, lead and motivate an effective and efficient finance and compliance team. * You will own and oversee all international accounting and tax matters in Lisbon, Paris and Bucharest * You will minimise risk by improving and implementing new financial disciplines and controls. * Ownership of cap table, including using 3rd party tools, and all relevant internal and external communications and compliance. * You will be recognised as a key leader within the business and be integral to attaining the strategic directives as defined by the board Requirements * You should be a Qualified Accountant - ACA, ICAS or ACCA with at least 5 years post qualifications Additionally, you will have; * Significant commercial experience in a Finance Director/CFO level role leading a team of 3 - 5 people (ideally in an asset financed business, start-up or high growth business). * Experience running a high calibre finance function in a +5m revenue business. * Experience in consolidation accounting, and inter-country tax and accounting matters * Experience in working with asset / inventory intensive business * Experience in leading and implementing budget and forecasting cycles * Financial modelling experience * Strong people management skills managing a diverse team of Finance professionals * Entrepreneurial spirit, seeing what needs to be done and even if you dont have the answer, you can figure out how to get there. This ranges from day to day processes right up to large strategic initiatives * You will be able to work effectively under pressure and agile in approach to requirements from a fast moving and growing business and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations. * Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the business from junior team members right up to Board level, both in writing and verbally. * Experience FP&A, MI, financial systems, cash management, financial reporting and regulatory reporting * Team-oriented; enjoys working with colleagues at all levels of the organisation Nice to have; * A Senior Finance role in a company operating in either a FCA regulated environment and/or experience with leasing / car industry * Experience in leading Compliance, Internal Audit and handling regulatory matters * An environment of raising funding and building investment pitches would be beneficial. * Experience with Enterprise Software Accounting solutions and migration from Xero (e.g SAP) * Some Operational experience is key to this role to ensure that you can see the 'bigger picture. * Solid and demonstrable experience working with CEO/Founder and being their 'righthand person.
