Our global Research organization is built on five guiding principles: * Research Quality is our top priority * We cultivate and grow a world-class analyst team of specialists * Each Intelligence Service has unique, robust data as its foundation * Research planning is innovative at its core and fosters creative destruction * Commercial success is the ultimate goal of our research products and processes PURPOSE OF ROLE The Practice Leader's purpose is to manage a team of 3-4 analysts as well as 3-4 team members from the RCoEs, research agenda planning, coordination of and contribution to the "W" data tools in relation to European markets, plus qualitative research on European market trends and opportunities. Oversees a team creating high-quality syndicated research deliverables and responsible for the execution of successful consulting engagements. Establishes the European Markets team as the go-to resource for clients looking to understand regional market opportunities, competitor threats, and best practices. As Practice Leader you will ensure the delivery of the following key objectives: * Quarterly research databases * Annual proposals supporting the strategic plan for the SP Markets team * Oversee the delivery of research and consulting projects to time, quality, and within budget * Authoring and curation of strategic thought leadership deliverables * Lead role in complex custom projects * Active partnerships in the sales process; develop strategic business development initiatives; lead analyst for key accounts * Develop a team of influential, highly-motivated industry analysts We're a global business of more than 600 colleagues, operating in 60 markets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The position of Practice Leader is one of responsibility and accountability. Key decisions you will be responsible for: * Development, review, and approval for team research plans * Ongoing development of research teams * Allocation of team analyst resources for optimal revenue growth and margin * Identification and conceptual development of new research focus areas and deliverables Other key responsibilities include: * Management of the European Markets team, including establishment and execution of research strategy for the European countries covered in the W tools, our forecasts, and European regional operator and market analysis. Data, quality, forecast and process ownership for all European aspects of relevant data products. * Development of a world-class high-performing team of industry analysts with in-depth market knowledge within specialized areas of research coverage. Development, engagement, and training of colleagues. * Successful, on-time delivery of high-quality, highly relevant, unified datasets and differentiated syndicated research products that adhere to an established research agenda and publication schedule. * With the Sr. Research Director, formulation of a compelling, commercially relevant research agenda, clearly positioning the team and Omdia as the definitive source of insight in the European Service Provider Markets space. * Partnering with the Product Management team for client sensing, product development, and research lifecycle management. Partnering with the forecasting team to obtain their support for your best-in-class forecasts. * Successful, on-time execution of consulting engagements to client specifications and quality expectations including the achievement of analyst consulting utilization targets at the individual and group level. * Proactive engagement with clients and prospects to promote and help drive new sales opportunities and role model the desired behaviour to the sector org
