Contract type: Permanent Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week The York based pharmacy team at York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, well-motivated and well-organised Specialist Pharmacist in Acute and Emergency medicine. The successful candidate will be eager to expand and develop a Pharmacy Service in a fast paced ward setting, with a vision for excellent patient care. You will require excellent prioritisation and communication skills, and be able to demonstrate commitment to enhancing the quality of patient care in the acute setting. The post holder will join a dynamic Pharmacy Team to provide Pharmacy Services to 3 busy Acute Medical Wards (adult and elderly) and a Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service. You will need to be passionate about supporting, managing and optimising patients' medication, and providing medication education alongside the multidisciplinary team. The candidate will be supported by the Acute Medical Team, providing plenty of opportunity to develop clinical, and leadership skills, including the completion of the independent prescribing qualification where necessary. A forward thinking, pragmatic Pharmacist is sought after to suggest service improvement ideas, conduct service development projects and work to improve the efficiency of the Pharmacy Service. The successful candidate will act as a role model to diploma pharmacists, Pre-Registration Pharmacists, Medicines Management Technicians and Medicine Management Assistants whilst supporting their continuing professional development. The post-holder will participate in an on-call service and work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
