The Fostering Team works closely with the Looked After Children and Care Leaver service and the Adoption and Permanence teams. In our September 2017 OFSTED Inspection the Fostering Service was judged to be a good service with Outstanding features for Outcomes for Children and Quality of Service. Our achievements are numerous and include the implementation of a multi-agency children and young people's strategy, which has assisted the move towards closer integration of services and multi-agency working. The Role We are looking to appoint a dynamic assessing supervising social worker for our Fostering Team. You will have responsibility for undertaking Form F assessments along with the supervision preparation, training, support and review of foster carers whom are offering placements to Looked After Children. This is collaborative role of both assessing and supervising, you will also be required to participate in the Fostering Team's duty rota over a number of days each month. In addition to this you will have the opportunity to participate in various other team activities such as delivering support groups, skills to foster program or training to carers. The role is within a dynamic service, working in a systemic approach under the Camden Model of Social Work. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. We are looking for someone who is an experienced and exceptional social worker, focused on best outcomes for young people. We would like someone who take's responsibility, can work both independently and collaboratively, and within a systemic approach. You will require 2 years post-qualification experience as a social worker, preferably within a Fostering team environment, with good investigative and analysis skills. You must hold at least a Diploma in social work or equivalent qualification and be Social Work England (formly HCPC) registered. You will also have extensive experience in completing assessments, preferably Form F assessments, supervision preparation, training, support and review of foster carers offering placements to Looked After Children. Also, possess a sound knowledge of the legislative framework relating to children particularly the Children Act 1989, Fostering Service Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards and other relevant guidance and standards. Being able to negotiate and have the ability to deal with conflict, hostility and vulnerability is paramount. You will need to also be an expert practitioner, positive about the work and the development of the team and service will succeed in this role.
