Overview

Supervising Social Worker-Support and Train Foster Carers Reference: 119851 Type: Permanent Salary (£): Up to £42,000 depending on experience Summary: A local authority is looking for a dynamic qualified social worker with experience in foster care to join a restructured fostering service which brings together the support and assessment services. This new model provides a more holistic care package by minimising the amount of time spent collating information from different services so social workers have more time to focus on delivering a great experience for service users. As well as using virtual reality training, you will be using the Mockingbird Family Model. This centres on a constellation where one foster home acts as a hub, offering planned and emergency sleepovers and short breaks, advice, training and support, to six to 10 satellite households. This new model has been very successful and is one of many ways this local authority stays ahead of the curve and is one of the best in London when it comes to the implementation of ground-breaking ideas. So, if you are someone who wishes to see the future of social care this position would be perfect for you. This local authority also has a very stable senior management team, have made no cuts to their Childrens Social Services and have increased the number of staff. Hence, social workers here can have a great home/work balance as the workload is quite reasonable. Skills and experience: Must be registered on Social Work England Experience of placing children in foster and adoption settings. Experience of undertaking and completing assessments of foster carers. Any previous experience with the Mockingbird Project would be ideal. Interested?
