Job Description

We are an award-winning Local Authority, with great transport links and a thriving cultural scene. This is an exciting new role for the Council and will provide you with a unique opportunity to shape our Public Realm front line services in the future. You will be a key member of the senior leadership team, championing our vision for the Public Realm. Our Climate Emergency Action Plan was agreed in March this year and we will make Lewisham carbon neutral by 2030. The Director of Public Realm will play a crucial role in helping our residents, businesses and communities tackle climate change. Probably the biggest long-term challenge we have ever faced. This role sits in a directorate which provides planning, regeneration, housing and public realm services. We have stablished a collective capacity which will help the Council influence and shape all future development in the borough. As a strategic leader, you will have a proven record of developing credibility and building collaborative relationships with senior managers, politicians, staff, partners and local communities.
