Mail Job Title: R&D Tax Consultant Founded in 1997, Leyton UK Limited is a global innovation funding consultancy dedicated to helping our clients improve their business performance. In the UK, our specific expertise is in innovation funding, energy consultancy and capital advisory. Leyton UK Limited is looking for a Tax Consultant to join our in-house management consultancy team to provide intuitive, market led insight within Research and Development Tax Relief and provide a first-class service to our clients. Main responsibilities of the role include: * Understanding the requirements for R&D tax relief and applying them in respect to clients' development activities to ensure the relevant tax legislation and guidelines are met; * Drafting of clear financial narratives and analysis of documents to justify R&D activities to UK carried out by clients to the UK tax authorities; * Determining the appropriate method of data collection through background research into clients and their relevant industries and interviewing key technical and financial leads; * Running workshops, addressing seminars, conferences, etc., to express professional views regarding R&D tax relief and other sources of Innovation funding; * Staying abreast of industry developments and legislative changes relevant to R&D tax relief and other innovation incentives; * Managing client's R&D claims throughout the project, advising and liaising from both a tax and science/engineering/IT perspective to ensure deadlines and objectives are met; * Interacting with HMRC, the tax authority, to provide additional support to defend the claims prepared if necessary; and * Providing clients and third parties with updates on the ongoing development of the R&D tax relief scheme. As R&D Tax Consultant, you must have/be: * An interest in furthering a career within R&D Tax * Ideally Part Qualified from ICAS or ICAEW or other equivalent professional bodies or Tax Professional with ATT qualifications- this is not a prerequisite * Ideally experience/ knowledge of UK Corporation Tax compliance * Curiosity, awareness and an interest in science, technology and innovation * An interest in applying seemingly simple concepts to a wide range of industrial sectors and tax matters * Outstanding numerical ability and a proven track record of working to tight deadlines Leyton offer a competitive remuneration and benefits package and offer unparalleled opportunities for rapid professional development.
