Overview Mimecast are seeking a sales professional to join their Public Sector Sales Team to build upon their current success within the Education sector (including Higher & Further Education, plus Schools). This position represents an excellent opportunity for the right individual to develop their sales career at Mimecast, one of the fastest-growing, publicly listed Cyber Security vendors. Working as part of a virtual team of Marketers, Business Development Representatives, Sales Engineers, Customer Experience Managers and our outstanding Managed Channel Partners, the successful candidate will focus on building out our strategic vision for serving the Education sector, and focus on winning and developing new accounts across the UK Higher & Further Education verticals, along with Schools. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional who is self-motivated, collaborative and hungry for sales success. The role, which is primarily new business development and execution, will report to the Senior Sales Manager for Public Sector Sales. Responsibilities * Responsible for achieving annual and quarterly sales targets * Responsible for creating, updating and executing upon the Vertical/Territory plan * Responsible for winning net new logo accounts for Mimecast in the Public Sector/Higher Education/Further Education/Schools Sectors * Responsible for building, managing and maintaining a robust pipeline (4:1 Pipeline to Quota Ratio) through a combination of Channel Generated, Marketing Generated and Self-Generated opportunities * Working with Mimecast Field Marketing, Channel Marketing and Vertical Marketing functions to create compelling and impactful marketing campaigns into your vertical * To build and maintain strong and long-lasting customer relationships to support future customer reference programmes, expansion strategies and contract renewals * To work effectively and collaboratively as part of a physical/virtual team * To work with the Mimecast Channel Partner Team and our Managed Channel Partners, to develop relationships, and then formulate Go-to-Market Plans and Pipeline Generation activities to broaden our market reach and optimise our coverage * To maintain accurate information within the Mimecast CRM and Forecasting Systems and to report on key KPI's * Commitment to continuous personal development, including internal training & enablement programmes, developing product, market & competitive knowledge and developing pre-existing enterprise selling skills Qualifications * A strong individual contributor and team player, with proven sales skills * A minimum of 2-5 years' sales experience selling complex IT solutions to customers (ideally within Security / SaaS / Email / Storage segments) * A good knowledge of the Higher and Further Education Market would be desirable, but not essential * Degree Level Education (desirable, but not essential) * An understanding of the wider Public Sector market and the challenges they face from a technological standpoint would be desirable, but not essential * A self-motived individual who has a desire to reach and exceed sales goals * A knowledge of Public Sector procurement Frameworks and processes would be desirable, but not essential * An excellent communicator, both written and verbal * Proven ability to repeatedly generate (and close) new logo business, typically across a 1-6 month sales cycle * Experience of building (and executing upon) Vertical/Territory plans * Be able to articulate the steps required to create a comprehensive sales campaign * Ability to demonstrate examples of where they have successfully built and leveraged intimate Channel Partner or Systems Integrator relationships, to significantly broaden market reach and capture new opportunity * Broad general knowledge of the technology industry, with a good understanding of customer security architectures, cyber security landscapes and technologies Core Competencies * A visible and tenacious sales individual * Ambitious with a desire to succeed and grow * A good sense of humour * Results-oriented with a positive outlook * A 'Make it Happen' attitude * Understanding of solution selling methodologies (E.g.
