Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY We are looking to recruit a new Director of Unified Comms Network Engineering who is interested in working in a dynamic team to help build world class unified comms, voice, video products and related services and applications using current and emerging technologies. The Director will be central to the future development of our product portfolio of new products and services. These products and services will conform to the technical design strategy for IPC's Connexus Cloud next generation unified comms solutions based on application servers integrating with Unigy (IPC's Trading Systems platform) as well as IPC's SBC and legacy ecosystem (EVS media gateways, SIP proxies, etc.) leveraging various protocols including SIP, RTP, WebRTC and others. In addition, the Director will interface with customers and selected partners to ensure technical efficacy of the overall next generation voice solution. This individual will be focused on the architecture, design, product engineering and operationalization of Connexus Cloud unified comms solutions for the financial services industry with an emphasis on integration with Trader Voice technology, including validation / certification with customer environment but also expanding to Third-Party / partners voice applications (SIP telephony application servers, SIP recording, security, etc.). He / She will be responsible for designing solutions that can be deployed in a Data Center / Co-Lo site but securely and reliably extend to client premise. Responsibilities include applying best practices for design and operational support (adhering to industry trends and establishment of IPC standards), long term strategic planning for evolutionary development, integration to support systems and oversight of other aspects including security, resiliency, scaling, performances as well as vendor engagement. He / She must have a strong understanding of data and voice services including deep knowledge of the enabling technologies and ability to conceive, build and operationalize technology driven solutions. Primary focus is on SIP application servers and SBC but expanding to any Third-Party SIP applications/services irrespective of whether provided by IPC or partners. Job role also requires generic layer 3 (IP/MPLS), layer 2 (Ethernet), virtualization and security services. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop thorough designs for voice solutions that provide a complete, consolidated design for integrating with Trader Voice (including IPC's Unigy) and customer SBC but also integrating Third-Party voice solutions and operational support models that will further enhance the company position as a premier specialized financial industry next generation / SIP voice solutions provider. * Direct technical interaction internally and with customers / vendors / partners to deliver against the overall solution. This includes design review and operational readiness testing. * Develop full understanding of the IPC products (ie. Unigy, Connexus, Direct Connect, EVS) and technology solutions (XOP, Globility, Genband, etc.) for the purpose of end-to-end design. * Work closely with OSS / NMS teams to ensure solutions are fully manageable including potential integration into existing IPC and/or partner systems or specification of new system requirements where applicable. * Conceive Proof-of-Concept tests for UC technology-driven designs including direct involvement and/or supervision of testing resources. * Support integration (SIP, WebRTC, API, etc.) with customers (SBC/Media GW) and partners' voice solutions. * Support operations as needed for customer testing and troubleshooting. Superior Performance Requirements : Four necessary key elements to be successful in this position, in priority order must be scalable and measurable * Develop, test, implement new solutions that meet or exceed technical requirements and timelines * Support deployment of solutions into operations including implementation and validation * Support integration with customer environment and Trading Systems platform * Provide support during the installations, problem determination / diagnosis and direct customer engagement Core Competencies/Skills: * Excellent technical design skills related to VoIP (VoIP, SIP, PSTN, etc), including IOT & troubleshooting * In-depth technical design of VoIP solutions and best practices * Excellent understanding of financial legacy voice protocol requirements (TDM CAS ARD, MRD, Hoot trader lines) * Good understanding of IP, MPLS and Ethernet Technologies * Good written and verbal skills * Ability to understand intersection of technology and financial markets * Ability to contribute to business cases for products and product categories * Strong grasp of design and user experience * Strong documentation, project management and analytic skills * Strong team player who always puts the needs of the business firs
