Social Worker/Approved Mental Health Professional Permanent Contract 1 post (37 hours) 35,934 pa - 37,849 pa for Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Please note salary below for candidates who are not AMHP trained Level 2 - social Worker 28,785 pa - 31,371 pa Level 3 - social Worker 31,371 pa - 33,799 pa About Us North Warwickshire IPU 3-8 Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Team is part of a multi-disciplinary, integrated mental health and wellbeing service. IPU's are arranged around individual needs based on the national care clusters: Non Psychosis (clusters 3-8), Psychosis (clusters 10-17) and Organic (clusters 18-21).We work with people who have complex and enduring mental health problems requiring care co-ordination under the Care Programme Approach. This team is proactive in embedding and utilising multidisciplinary roles to provide recovery and outcome focussed interventions. Ideally we're looking an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP or Social Worker who is experienced in working within mental health services with at least two years' experience of mental health work. Although in some circumstances we will consider less experienced candidates who have the values, qualities, attitudes and life experience that we are looking for including Newly Qualified Social Workers. Our Team covers the locality of North Warwickshire and includes two bases in Nuneaton & Rugby and although you could be predominantly based at one location you are part of the wider team and may have the opportunity to work across both localities. While social workers act as care co-ordinators they also retain a distinct social work identity and will be expected to promote social care theory and interventions. The Role Working within an established team, you'll be managing a caseload with service users whom have a complex and often enduring mental health problem. Undertaking the role of care co-ordination and, if a qualified AMHP, contributing to the AMHP rota, you'll work in a person centred and holistic way to promote personalisation and empower individuals to make choices, supporting them in achieving their goals in aiding and enabling their recovery. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, using evidence based approaches in the assessment and delivery of time limited interventions. You'll be communicating with a wide variety of clients; professionals; partners and agencies and will be working on your own initiative and making decisions in pressurised situations. Although employed by Warwickshire County Council, this role is seconded to the Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust although you will receive supervision from a local authority lead practitioner as well as from your CWPT line manager. Skills & Experience To be successful in this role you'll ideally be an Approved Mental Health Professional, or willing to train and practice as one. With a Social work qualification, registered with the Health and Care Professional Council Ideally you'll have at least 2 years' experience of working with people with complex and significant mental health problems and we see this as an ideal opportunity to further develop specialist skills. It's important you have strong analytical and communication skills and you can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with colleagues. With the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure as well as maintaining composure and your professional stance, you'll be used to making difficult decisions.
